How to Get More Organic Traffic Fast

Today I want to show you how to get more organic traffic fast to your site without backlinks, content, or social shares.

The secret? A new strategy called The Click Magnet Method. I recently used this strategy to help take Visco Foods website to the number five spot in Google and get more organic traffic.

In this article, I’ll show you exactly how the Click Magnet method works, step by step.

One afternoon, Rand Fishkin, founder of Moz, decided to run a little experiment. He sent out a Tweet to his followers:

“Care to help with a Google theory/test? Could you search for “IMEC Lab” in Google and click the link from my blog? I have a hunch.”

That’s what a bunch of people did. They searched on Google for IMEC Lab and clicked on Rand’s result. Rand sent out that Tweet at 6 pm. By that time his result ranked in the number seven spot for that keyword.

What do you think happened after his result suddenly got all those clicks? Well, three hours later, his site shot up to the number one spot in Google. Crazy, right?

Let’s quickly look at another example. This one comes from a little-known German SEO blog. The guy that runs this blog ran an experiment very similar to Rand’s. He asked people in several different Google+ circles to search for a particular keyword and click on his site.

His site jumped from the bottom of the page to the number one spot in Google SERP. Yes, this is what happened in few hours.

The Click-Through-Rate Factor

You might be wondering, what’s going on here? As you know, Google wants to show their users the best result for a given keyword. They determine the best outcome by looking at things like backlinks, on-page SEO, social shares, and more.

As you may understand from the two experiments I just showed you, Google also uses your site’s click-through rate to determine where you should rank on the SERP. 

Google has an expected Click-Through-Rate for each of the positions of the first page.

For example: Let’s say that I rank number three for the keyword “How to Get More Organic Traffic Fast in Brisbane”. Pretty cool, right? Well, yes if it wasn’t a temporary condition. If for any reason your meta title and meta description tag don’t generate the clicks that Google expects, they’ll drop you like a ball.

That means less organic traffic for you. That’s because this low click-through rate tells Google, this result isn’t a good fit for this keyword.

On the other hand, let’s say that you’re ranking number six. Typically, the number six result gets about 4% of all clicks. Let’s just say that for whatever reason, yours is getting 10% of all clicks.
This signal tells Google, hey, people like this stuff. Let’s move it up so more people can take advantage of it. You deserve a better position, you should get more organic traffic.

That’s the power of your site’s click-through rate in Google search results.

Strategy #1: The CTR Magnet Method

Before I describe you this method, I should warn you, in both of the experiments that I share with you, hundreds of people suddenly started clicking on a single result and that’s why they got more organic traffic fast and saw such dramatic differences in their rankings.

But because it’s considered black-hat, I don’t recommend asking people to search for your keyword and click on your site to show Google you get more organic traffic.

The question is: How can you get more clicks on your result without being penalised for that? The answer is Yes, with The CTR Magnet Method.
It’s a simple, three-step process that I recently used to rank my clients in the top five for the very competitive keyword and got more organic traffic fast to their respective websites.

Let’s dig into how this method works and how you can do the same thing.

A while back, I published a post called How SEO and Web Design Work Together to Bring People to Your Website. I was travelling when I published that post, so I completely forgot to write a unique title and description tag for that post. Because of that, my result on Google looked not pretty.

As you can see, my title tag was cut off, and my description tag made absolutely no sense. As you might expect, my click-through rate was pretty terrible.

Here’s the exact three-step process that I used to turn things around:

  • Step 1: Find Adwords ads.
  • Step 2: Include words and phrases from Adwords ads in your title and description tag.
  • Step 3: Get more clicks.

Let’s have a look at each step in detail.

Find Adwords ads

First, you need to find Adwords ads for your target keyword or related keywords. Why? Because advertisers spend an eye on advertising on Google AdWords. Literally, thousands of dollars to get clicks.
That means, the Adwords ads that you see in Google results really work for them, as they are likely to be the result of hundreds, if not thousands, of split tests.

In other words, when you see an Adwords ad in Google, you know that it’s optimised to maximise clicks. In my case, I noticed that most of the Adwords ads for the keyword “SEO Brisbane”, use the words “SEO Management” or “SEO Audit”.

Furthermore, these Adwords ads used terms like “build”, “grow”, and “boost”.

Once I got an idea of which words and phrases tended to show up in Adwords ads, I moved on to Step No. 2, which is to add these words and phrases to your title and description tag.

In my case, I made sure to add the term “SEO Brisbane” to my description tag. This was one phrase that almost all of the ads used, so it made sense for me to use it, too.

Next, based on the other ads that I saw, I made sure to include the word “SEO Management” and “SEO Audit” in my description tag.

Get more clicks

If you make sure you add these highly-targeted and well-tested keywords to your title and description tag, you should start seeing more clicks and get more organic traffic from Google to your website.

In fact, soon after implementing this CTR Magnet Method on my “SEO Brisbane” post, it quickly gained spots in Google.

Strategy #2: Power Words

Of course, the CTR Magnet Method was just part of the story. I also built several high-quality backlinks to that page, but the improvement in my click-through rate made a significant difference.

Now, before we wrap up, I want to let you in on a little bonus tactic that you can use to improve your click-through rate and get more organic traffic from Google. This technique works great if the Adwords ads that you found didn’t generate anything useful. This tactic is using what is known as “power words”. It’s straightforward.

The fact is, whenever someone scans Google’s first page, they are impatient. They want to read the material that is going to help them at the moment.

When you add these words to your title and description tag, you are going to be the result they want to click.
All you have to do is add these words and phrases to a Google result.
These words are proven over and over again to attract clicks. Why? Because these phrases and words attract fast results.
